Cheshire Youth Orchestra
Cheshire Youth Orchestra is part of the Cheshire Education Services and is comprised of talented young musicians in Cheshire and its surrounding areas.
Past members of the orchestra have been finalists in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition before going on to become professional musicians with orchestras such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Halle.

Whilst the majority of the orchestra's concerts are presented in Cheshire, it has performed on several occasions at the Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican in London.
The orchestra has toured to places such as South Africa, the Czech Republic, Pennsylvania, and Prague.
The Orchestra is touring Italy in July 2007.
The success of the CYO is dependent on the talent and commitment of its players and the flow of new members from the training orchestra. Members of the Orchestra are expected to attend all the rehearsals in order that we can maintain our high standards. We anticipate that an extensive programme of concerts will be performed by the Orchestra in 2007-2008. The first rehearsal ia on Saturday 22nd September 2007.
If you cannot attend a rehearsal can you please let one of the tutors know in advance of the date, rather than making a last minute phone call or texting a friend. It is not fair on the tutors and the other members of the orchestra.
Membership
Cheshire Youth Orchestra welcomes talented young musicians who:
-Are under the age of 21
Play any orchestra instruments and have achieved:
-Grade 6 standard or above for their instrument.
If no exams have been taken a teacher's recommendations should be sent with
the application form.

There are auditions for the Cheshire Youth Orchestra on Saturday 9th June 2007 for woodwind and brass at mid Cheshire College. The Orchestra is always looking to recruit talented new member.
