Information for Music Tutors

All music tutors working in Cheshire Schools are invited to become approved by the Cheshire Music Education Partnership. This scheme provides approved tutors with support and advice on issues related to instrumental tuition in schools, free opportunities for professional development, access to the new Associated Board MusicMedals and a free copy of 'A Common Approach 2002'.

The application process for approved tutor status has been made as simple
and transparent as possible. It has been agreed with an external consultant
who is currently Chief Executive of the Federation of Music Services.

• All instrumental tutors working within Cheshire schools will be invited to
become accredited by Cheshire Music Education Partnership.
• Tutors will be provided with criteria and will be asked to submit a CV and
letter of application. They will also be asked to submit evidence of
standard of performance.

Please download the "Approved Tutor Status" pack for more information and how to apply

If you are a music teacher and feel that one of your pupils would benefit from playing in either orchestra, we would ask you to think about encouraging your students to put their name forward for an audition in September. The Friends of Cheshire Youth Orchestra welcome instrumentalists of any age up to 21 who would like to improve their ensemble skills and meet new friends.
